Who builds one

The TS-2 plans are for

Not a coffee-table PDF. This is the working set a fabricator uses at the bench — the same drawings, dimensions and cut files, whether you're building one for yourself or twenty for customers.

Inside the plan set

Every tube, modeled in 3D

Spin the complete chassis before you cut a single piece of steel. Check clearance, fit and geometry from any angle — this is the same model you get in the package.

What lands in your inbox

Three files. One complete machine.

Everything is dimensioned in inches and millimeters, so nothing gets lost in conversion between your tape measure and your laser shop.

PDF Deliverable / PDF

The build manual

100 pages, worked in build order. You start at the chassis base and move one stage at a time — subassemblies, welds, bends, flat plates. Every drawing lists the exact parts and material that stage needs.

DXF Deliverable / DXF

The cut files

40 files at 1:1 scale for every flat plate on the vehicle. Open them in any CAD package, or send them straight to your local laser or waterjet shop and pick the parts up cut.

DWF Deliverable / DWF

The 3D models

Full chassis, front suspension, rear suspension and drivetrain — plus 32 rendered views. Spin it, check clearance, and show a customer the finished machine before you strike an arc.

The honest number

What it costs to build

Nobody in this market will give you a straight answer, so here it is. These are the ranges builders actually report in the US. What you land on depends on how much you source used and what's already sitting in your shop.

New two-seat factory side-by-side$18,000 – $30,000
Used two-seat buggy, someone else's build$8,000 – $15,000
Build the TS-2 yourself$4,000 – $8,000

Ranges reflect typical US builds and are not a quote. Local steel prices and your donor drivetrain move the number either way.

Steel tube and plate$700 – 1,200
Donor engine, used$800 – 2,500
Suspension, shocks, hubs, brakes$1,200 – 2,500
Wheels and tires$500 – 1,000
Seats, harnesses, steering, controls$400 – 900
Paint, consumables, hardware$300 – 600
Typical build$4,000 – 8,000

Built, not rendered

These aren't drawings of an idea

The TS-2 has been cut, welded, wired and driven. What you're buying is the working set behind a machine that already exists — not a concept somebody modeled and never built.

That's the difference you feel around week three, when the geometry has to actually line up and the plates have to actually fit.

Straight answers

+Are the dimensions in inches or millimeters?
Both. Every drawing carries inch and millimeter callouts, and the DXF files are 1:1 scale — send them straight to your local laser or waterjet shop with no conversion step.
+Do I need to be a professional welder?
No. Basic MIG welding gets you there. Most of the build is cut, fit and weld. The manual takes it one stage at a time and every drawing lists exactly what parts and material that stage needs.
+What tools do I need?
A welder, angle grinder, chop saw and drill cover most of it. You'll also want a tube notcher and a bender — plans for both are included, so you can build the tools rather than buy them.
+What engine can I run?
The chassis is engineered for 60 to 350 horsepower, gas or electric. It's ideal over 100 hp. Most builders use a used motorcycle or small automotive engine.
+Can I open the files on my phone?
The manual and renders are PDF and JPEG, so they open anywhere and print for the bench. The DXF and DWF files open with the free viewer linked in your download.
+Is it street legal?
These plans are for an off-road vehicle. Street registration rules vary by state — check with your local DMV before planning a road-legal build.
+How do I get the files?
Instant download. The link appears the moment your payment clears and is emailed to you as well. Nothing ships and there's no waiting.
